FranchiseBlast automatic failure mechanism is a great way to identify critical issues that might be happening in your business.  A severity level (e.g. critical, low) can be specified for each question in a questionnaire.  Rules can then be defined in a questionnaire to automatically fail a result if more than the allowed number of questions for a particular severity level have failed.  For instance you might want a result to automatically fail if more than 5 questions marked as critical severity were failed.  Here's how you do it:

Please refer to Setting Up Field Audit Questionnaires before you reading this article if you have not learned how to do so yet, it'll be easier for you!  From the questionaire editor in FranchiseBlast, you can assign different severity levels (e.g. normal, critical, bonus, etc) to a question in a questionnaire within the options dialog of a question in the questionnaire editor as shown below.

Once this is done you can specify automatic failure rules based on the number of questions failed in a particular severity level. This can be done in the settings tabs of the questionnaire editor as shown below.  For instance, you might want the assessment to automatically fail if more than 5 questions marked as critical were failed, which is what is specified in the screenshot below.
