Customizing Insights Reports

Each insights reports template can be customized to show analytics tailored to your business needs. There are customizations specific to certain templates such as the scorecard insights template, however this article only covers the ones that are applicable to most templates.

Adding and Removing Columns

Most insights report templates will let you add and remove several columns that will each provide a different type of analytics. To add a new column, use the + button in the table header and select which type of column you wish to add to the report and press Add. You can also add multiple instances of the same column type and use different filters and options on each one of the columns to make side-by-side comparison in reports. This helps comparing the audit average of two different questionnaires, for example.

You can also remove columns that you don't want in the report simply by putting your cursor above the header of the column you wish to remove and pressing the x button – it’s that easy!

Re-Ordering Columns and Sorting

Using the report customizationfunctionality, various changes can be applied to the default insights templates for them to be presented in a way that suits your organization. You can re-order columns in all the reports by moving columns up and down using the arrow to re-order it the way you like. Other customizations vary depending on the report template

Some insights reports such as the scorecard can also be sorted by a specific column's values. Simply press on the sortbutton in the header of the relevant column. You can toggle from ascending, descending to having no sorting applied by pressing on the sort button until you get the result you desire for your report.

Creating and Saving Customized Reports

Once a report template is customized in insights, it can then be saved as a new customized report that will be shared with everyone across your organization. You can build different reports using the same templates that will focus on specific areas of your business such as Marketing, Training and more. For example, you might want to have a Field Audit Activities Insights report that focuses on one questionnaire such as food safety only and another one which puts an emphasis on another, such as customer service.

There are two ways to create new customized reports.

The first method will show an unsaved changes button at the top of the report when you apply some customizations to a template report, as shown in the screenshot above. From that dialog you can save your customized report under a new name and hit save. Once this customized report is saved, it will then appear in the report selector as a new report available to everyone in your organization.

Alternatively, you can select create new report from the report selector to make a new insights report. Choose an insights template report you wish to begin your customization with, give a name to the report and press create. You can then customize the report to your liking as well as save and share your changes with everyone in your organization by using the method above.

You can also pick one report to be the favorite report for your organization by pressing on the star  next to the report's title. The favorited report will show up first when any person in your organization accesses the insights area in FranchiseBlast, so you can put the most important information in front of people across your organization easily.

Sharing and Exporting Insights Reports

Once you're happy with the insights reports that you've customized for your organization, you can proactively share it with your colleagues as well instead of waiting for them to log in.

This can be done by simply adding the report directly to a dashboard you share with your organization already. In order to add an insights report to a dashboard once you're happy with it, press on the dashboard  button at the top right of the report header, select the dashboard you'd like to add it to and press add to dashboard. The report will then be added and shared with everyone who has access instantaneously.

Insights reports can also be exported to various format including PDF e.g. scorecards and Excel/CSV e.g. Field Audit Activities Insights. To export an insights report, press on the file button at the top right of the report header. The resulting export file should then automatically start being downloaded by your browser.
