Store functions is a concept that allows you to add functions to users within your organization that represent functions that they may have within a store. Once defined in your organization settings, you can then add these functions to people on a store by store basis


System Store Functions

FranchiseBlast already has a default set store functions common to the franchising industry setup in your organization settings:


You cannot remove these from the system, as they control default behaviors in the system for common account types.  You can however rename the default functions or add your own set of store functions to customize them to your terminology for your organization.  Here's a short description of the personas that should be assigned each system store function in stores.

  • Franchise Business Consultant : A person who is typically hired by the franchisor to coach franchisees on a regular basis and conduct store audits in the field.
  • Area Manager: Someone who's managing a group of stores covered by multiple Franchise Business Consultants.
  • Franchisee: People who are owners and directly responsible for one or more stores.
  • Store Manager: People who work in the store as managers e.g. kitchen manager or front-end managers.

Managing Store Functions For Your Organization

Caution

Keep in mind that when changing the names for the default store functions that it could affect our internal systems that we use for importing metrics or updating store data. To make sure that we are aware of the changes that you wish to make to these default functions please contact us at support@franchiseblast.com.


You can get started on managing your store functions by choosing Settings > General from the left most main navigation menu.


Note: If you manage more than one franchise, you can select it below the word Franchise. In the example, you can see we chose FranchiseBlast Demo.



Creating New Store Functions

Once there you should see a panel that will allow you to modify the function within your organization as shown below.


To add your own function click the Add New Function button and a new function at the bottom of the list will appear, give that new function a name and it will automatically save the function. If you want to delete a function that you made click the red X next to the function to remove it from the list. 


Renaming Existing Store Function

To rename a functions just change type in a new function name for whatever function you wish to rename. If changing a default function make sure that we have no imports on systems that rely on 


Managing Store Functions For Users

To add and remove store functions for a given user in within a store go to the user editor which you can find in the Staff tab when you go to a store in your organization. 



Then select the user you wish to edit the store functions by clicking this button. 



Once there you will see an input at the bottom. If you click on the input it will bring up a drop down that you can select new functions from or you can remove functions by clicking the small X next to the name of the function.
